TV and Radio
Joseph writes scripts for TV, radio and film.
He is a regular collaborator with Aardman Animations, and was part of the writing team behind Netflix's International Emmy-winning Shaun The Sheep: Adventures from Mossy Bottom (2020), as well as writing on a number of in-house development projects.
He was also Head Writer on Ready Eddie Go! (Sky Kids, 2023), a 26-part animated series for pre-schoolers, narrated by Jodie Whittaker.
He has his own Radio 4 series, Joseph Morpurgo's Walking Tour - a surrealist collection of audio guides (which you can listen to here). He also co-created the Radio 4 panel show The Ultimate Choice, hosted by Steph McGovern.
He has had multiple pilot projects in development with Channel 4, and has collaborated with Warp Films, Baby Cow, Objective, and Fudge Park. He has also written a number of shorts, including Joseph Morpurgo's Christmas (Sky Arts), Top 10 Lost Eastenders Scripts (BBC Three), and Phil: A Tribute To A Man. Further recent writing credits include The Amelia Gething Complex (2021, BBC), Comedians Giving Lectures (2020, 12Yard) and Radio 4's Austentatious special (2021, Naked).
He has acted in a number of TV and radio projects, including: the BAFTA-nominated Harry and Paul's Story of the Twos (BBC2), Murder in Successville (BBC3), Drunk History (Comedy Central) and The World of Simon Rich (BBC Radio 4).
He was also Features Editor of online music platform FACT Magazine for a number of years, writing hundreds of articles, reviews and features, and interviewing the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Disclosure, Tricky, Thundercat, and more.
